Grilled Ham & Cheese Sandwich


1 loaf Focaccia Bread, sliced horizontally
Extra Virgin Olive Oil or Canola Oil
1 clove garlic, peeled and cut in half
8 ounces deli ham, sliced
8 ounces smoked or baby Swiss, sliced
Horseradish sauce, or mayonnaise
1 medium sweet onion, thinly sliced
Apricot preserves

Brush cut sides of Focaccia bread with oil.  Rub each side with garlic.  Grill over medium coals until just turning a light brown.  Remove.

Spread one side of bread with horseradish sauce and other half with preserves (to taste).

Layer ham, cheese and onion over bottom of Focaccia and place on the top of the bread.  Brush top with oil.

Place top side down on grill over medium coals.  Brush bottom crust with oil.  Cover grill and cook until top is lightly browned.  Flip and grill bottom until lightly browned.  

Remove and cut into wedges.
