Deep Fried Dill Pickles


2 large eggs, beaten
1 cup milk
2 1/4 cups all purpose flour, divided
2 tablespoons pickle liquid
1 tablespoon hot sauce (to taste)
1 tablespoon white vinegar
1 cup corn meal
1/4 cup corn starch
1 teaspoon salt
1/2 teaspoon ground black pepper
1 (32 ounce) jar dill pickle slices (good quality)
Vegetable Oil for frying
 
Preheat oil to 350 - 375 degrees.
 
In large bowl, beat eggs, milk, 1/4 cup flour, pickle liquid, hot sauce and vinegar until well mixed.
 
In another medium bowl, combine corn meal, flour, corn starch, salt and pepper and mix well.
 
Place drained pickles in egg mixture. Take approximately a dozen slices and dredge them in the flour mixture. Shake off extra and place carefully in hot oil.
 
Fry until golden brown. Drain on paper towels and sprinkle with salt.
 
Serve with dipping sauces, ie: Ranch Dressing, Thousand Island Dressing or Bleu Cheese Dressing. Try mixing some hot sauce into Ranch Dressing for a spicy dipping sauce.
