Pasta, Rice and Grains


Cold Asian Shirataki Noodles

 ¼ cup rice vinegar

1 tablespoon soy sauce

1 teaspoon Splenda (or sugar)

½ teaspoon sesame oil

½ teaspoon hot chili sauce (Rooster sauce)

1/8 teaspoon ground black pepper

1/8 teaspoon garlic powder

2 packages Shirataki Noodles*

2 scallions, white and green parts, thinly sliced

1 teaspoon black (or white) sesame seeds


Mix together vinegar, soy sauce, Splenda (or sugar), sesame oil, hot chili sauce, black pepper and garlic powder in a medium bowl.


Drain noodles and rinse under cold water.  Soak noodles in cold water for a few minutes, drain.  Add fresh water to just cover noodles, microwave for 3 minutes, drain and rinse with cold water.


Add noodles and scallions to vinegar mixture and toss.  Refrigerate to chill.  Toss before serving and garnish with sesame seeds.


*You may substitute 8 ounces of uncooked spaghetti, prepared according to package directions, drained and rinsed with cold water.
